This process includes designing innovative methods to embed reciprocity through a process that supports self-determination.

Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre
Collaborating closely with Wurundjeri, our team led an iterative Traditional Owner engagement and codesign process that identified opportunities to amplify Indigenous knowledge and cultural narratives, and translated the insights captured during the engagement phase into design features.
The cultural codesign elements won the 2025 Good Design Award for Built Environment Installation Design. The Jury commented “The strength of the project lies in the co-design process and the expression of First Nations culture through place is both visually compelling and educational. The shadows cast by the Kingfisher sculpture is particularly beautiful and well executed. A powerful example of world class design.”
