The Role
As a Senior Consultant, you will lead consulting projects, working closely with clients and internal teams to develop strategic, research-driven, and people-centred solutions. This role requires a blend of creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, and strong project leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership - Lead end-to-end consulting projects across diverse sectors, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Community Engagement - Design and facilitate human-centred engagement activities such as interviews, workshops, community pop-ups, and surveys.
Research & Insights - Conduct and oversee research, stakeholder mapping, and data analysis to develop meaningful insights.
Strategy & Solution Design - Apply design thinking methodologies to craft tailored, people-focused solutions.
Reporting & Communication - Develop and present concise, structured reports, proposals, and visual materials that translate insights into action.
Mentorship & Coaching - Support and mentor junior consultants, fostering a culture of growth and learning.
Business Development - Leverage your network, identify client needs, and contribute to business growth through proposal writing and strategic relationship building.
About You
We are looking for a seasoned consultant with strong leadership experience, a commercial mindset, and a passion for solving complex challenges. You thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments, enjoy coaching and mentoring others, and are committed to making a lasting impact.
What You Bring:
Experience & Expertise
At least 5 years of experience in consulting, with a minimum of 2 years leading projects.
Experience in leadership, communications, organisational development, or community engagement methodologies.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data to drive decision-making.
A keen eye for visual design to bring insights to life through compelling storytelling and visuals.
Strong commercial awareness, with experience writing winning proposals and understanding client needs.
Leadership & People Skills
A proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead teams.
Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage clients and maintain long-term connections.
Highly developed communication and presentation skills, including confidently presenting to senior stakeholders.
Strategic & Creative Thinking
A blend of creative flair and efficiency in project delivery.
Ability to design and deliver human-centred solutions across multiple formats, including face-to-face and digital experiences.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing contexts.
Qualifications
A degree in Design, Community Development, Business or a related field.
A deep understanding of design thinking methodologies is highly regarded.
Travel & Hours of Work Requirements
Travel to regional locations in Victoria may be necessary as part of this role, given that we conduct work in the Melbourne Metro area and regional areas of Victoria.
Greenshoot Consulting supports a flexible approach to working hours; however, it expects staff to mainly work between the hours of 9.00am to 5.30pm. Reasonable overtime and some out-of-hours work is anticipated as part of this role.
Greenshoot Consulting offers a hybrid working model. For this role, there is an expectation that the individual will work from the office a minimum of four days per week, ensuring strong collaboration and engagement with the team and projects.

Community Engagement - Support the delivery of human-centred engagement activities such as workshops, interviews, community pop-ups, and surveys.
Research & Insights - Conducting research, stakeholder mapping, and synthesising data into meaningful insights.
Strategy & Solution Development - Applying design thinking methodologies to support the development of contemporary, people-focused solutions.
Reporting & Communication - Developing concise, well-structured reports, presentations, and visual materials that translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Project Coordination - Managing work streams, collaborating with clients and internal teams, and ensuring projects are delivered effectively.
About You
We are looking for curious, adaptable, and proactive professionals with a background in consulting, strategy, research, or stakeholder/community engagement. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy problem-solving, and are committed to making a positive impact.
What You Bring:
Experience & Expertise
At least 3 years of experience in consulting, stakeholder engagement, or community engagement. (Experience working with First Peoples and CALD communities is highly regarded.)
Strong ability to analyse, interpret, and communicate complex information in a clear, structured manner.
A keen interest in using visual design to present insights and strategies effectively.
Experience working on multiple projects with competing priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
High attention to detail and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
People & Problem-Solving Skills
A strategic and creative mindset, with a passion for tackling complex challenges.
Strong ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
