Greenshoot Consulting was engaged to review Council’s Indigenous history and archaeology. This review formed the foundation of a framework for Council operations that values, respects, and acknowledges local Indigenous Cultural Heritage (ICH) and focuses on safeguarding and protecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. The review and framework was developed through meaningful engagement and collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with traditional and historical ties to the Inner West.

The framework incorporated best-practice principles identified in Connecting with Country and Designing with Country and establishing recommendations on how to best manage Indigenous Cultural Heritage.
