Albert Park is a 225Ha parkland located approximately 4km south of the Melbourne CBD. It comprises sport and recreation facilities catering for recreational, amateur and elite sports activities, competitions and major events along with a range of native, open space and recreation environments and facilities for community recreation for over 3 million visitors annually.

Albert Park is home to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix and, each year, is converted from its year-round operating mode into a world championship motorsport and major event venue hosting more than 400,000 patrons, participants and officials over a four-day event. With the exception of the Pit Building complex and underground fuel compounds, major infrastructure is installed temporarily and removed each year for the event.

Greenshoot worked with Boon Wurrung Elders and representatives to reveal site specific cultural narratives and identify opportunities to embed First Peoples’ knowledge and culture into future design and activation opportunities.
