What the Client Needed
Greenshoot Consulting was engaged to undertake a review of the Melbourne Indigenous Arts Festival on behalf of the City of Melbourne. Following a comprehensive engagement across all key Indigenous stakeholders, a series of recommendations was provided to the Council, which were adopted in full.
What We Did
Greenshoot Consulting implemented a ‘high touch’ approach to stakeholder engagement including one on one interviews with a range of stakeholders to ascertain stakeholder perspectives regarding future models for the festival.
Based on these recommendations the Festival was relaunched as the YIRRAMBOI First Nations Arts Festival in 2017, which showcased First Nations artists and performers in Melbourne’s laneways, public spaces and arts venues. All works were created, choreographed, produced, directed and performed by Indigenous artists.
